My inspiration came from a conversation I had with a friend who is a Speech Language Pathologist. Did you know that at least 1 out of every 3 children have difficulty with early development of sounds that are instrumental for speech development and pre-reading/reading skills as well as spelling?
I wrote QUIET BUNNY as a fun interactive story to help all children target these crucial early development sounds. Working with the Speech Pathologist, I identified the key skill building sounds included in the story and then added the theme “BE YOURSELF” to give the book meaning and purpose. This message is important for children of all ages. Too many children get caught up in the “cool” factor. Trying to be like everyone else, they lose sight of who they are.
